YSR memorial park to come up near Imax theatre

Hyderabad: The State government has decided to construct Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy memorial park in an area spanning 20 acres near Imax theatres in the city.
The proposed park would be developed in the 17 acres open place presently housing Doctors Cars near Imax theatre and the three acre Lake View Park would also be included in the new park.
Demonstration
Responding to HMDA's call, 22 private agencies presented detailed demonstrations to a committee constituted by Chief Minister K. Rosaiah. Of the 22 companies, five, including Kishore D. Pradhan organisation of Mumbai, Studio Nine of Mumbai, D.S. Associates of Hyderabad, Kakani Associates of Ahmedabad and Design Associates from Noida were short-listed under the first stage of screening, said a press release. Based on the demonstrations, the committee which comprises of Tourism Minister J. Geeta Reddy, Home Minister P. Sabita Indra Reddy, Revenue Minister D. Prasada Rao, Health Minister D. Nagender and Backward Classes Welfare Minister M. Mukesh would nominate three best agencies to the Chief Minister K. Rosaiah.
Successful bidder
The successful bidder would be announced in the presence of the Chief Minister. The proposed park, which is close to Tank Bund, would be devoid of any concrete structures as per the directions of Supreme Court.
