Alur MLA resignation issue resolved

HYDERABAD: The resignation issue of Congress MLA P. Neeraja Reddy (Alur) appeared to have been resolved on Saturday with the intervention of the Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy.
Ms. Neeraja Reddy's resignation letter submitted to the APCC president Botcha Satyanarayana on Saturday figured at a lengthy meeting convened by the Chief Minister at the Secretariat ahead of his proposed visit to Kurnool district on June 25 to review the developmental activities as art of the ‘District Reviews Programme'.
Ministers E. Pratap Reddy (Law & Courts) and T. G. Venkatesh (Minor Irrigation) reportedly brought to the Chief Minister the pent up feelings of the aggrieved MLA, who lamented that she was sought to be edged out in her own constituency by Congress leaders within the district, in respect of developmental schemes. They also spoke of harassment faced by her at the hands of these leaders.
The Chief Minister and Forest Minister S. Vijayarama Raju, who is in-charge of the district is said to have , assured that appropriate steps would be taken to ensure unhindered developmental activities in Alur constituency and to advise the Congress leaders to consider her feelings and act accordingly.
Speaking to reporters later, Mr Vijayarama Raju declared “the issue has been resolved and the resignation episode is over”.
