BJP to enlighten people on corruption, black money

VIZIANAGARAM: Bharateeya Janata Party is planning to organise village and mandal-level meetings from June 25 to enlighten people on the Congress-led UPA government's lacklustre attitude on bringing back money stacked in foreign banks.
Addressing a press conference here on Tuesday, party State official spokesperson J. Prithviraj said the BJP had raised the issue prior to elections in 2009. The Congress that had included the same in its manifesto and promised to get back the money in foreign banks within 90 days had failed to keep its word till date. Though Wikileaks had exposed the names of 27 people, who have accounts in banks abroad, the Prime Minister was dragging his feet on the issue. Mr. Prithviraj said the party would also create awareness among people on the tirade against his party by the UPA Government for supporting social activist Anna Hazare and Yoga Guru Baba Ram Dev who had been fighting against ‘corruption' and ‘black money.' On municipal elections, he said the Congress was in the habit of creating a problem just before an election and gets a stay order from the High Court later. The Congress had no clarity on the reservations, he added.
