Student JAC activists burn State BJP chief's effigy

ONGOLE: Scores of activists of the Samaikya Andhra Rashtra Vidyarthi Joint Action Committee (SARV-JAC) on Wednesday burnt the effigy of Bharatiya Janata Party State president G. Kishan Reddy in protest against the party's stand in support of division of the State.
The students led by SARV-JAC Prakasam district convenor Rayapati Jagadeesh assembled in front of the statue of Potti Sriramulu in front of the CVN Reading Room Centre here and raised slogans expressing solidarity with their counterparts in Visakhapatnam who had disrupted the BJP meeting attended by Mr Kishan Reddy on Tuesday opposing the BJP's stand for bifurcation of the State.
“The BJP chief should restrict himself to Telangana as he has hurt the sentiments of the Seemandhra people who want the State remain united. We will obstruct Mr Kishan Reddy if he dares to enter any part of Rayalaseema or coastal Andhra,'' SARV-JAC town convenor P Nagaraju said before the SARV-JAC activists N. Ashok and M. Madhu Yadav set on fire the effigy of Mr Kishan Reddy.
