TDP MLA's challenge

KARIMNAGAR: Karimnagar TDP legislator Gangula Kamalakar has dared Vijayawada MP Lagadapati Rajagopal to contest from any Assembly or Parliament constituency from Telangana to prove that people of the region were supporting a unified Andhra Pradesh.
Strongly condemning the remarks made by the MP against Karimnagar MP Ponnam Prabhakar, he ridiculed Mr. Rajagopal's statement that majority people in Telangana region were for the cause of integrated Andhra Pradesh. “If he (Rajagopal) is confident, let him contest from the Telangana region. People will chase him away,” he remarked.
Talking to newsmen here on Monday, Mr. Kamalakar said the Vijayawada MP was insulting the people of the region with his derogatory remarks and warned him of serious consequences.
He found fault with the MP for claiming that only 40 Assembly seats would be won on the cause of separate Telangana in the region.
He alleged that Mr. Rajagopal was obstructing the formation of Telangana since the December 9, 2009 statement by the Centre. Calling upon leaders of all political parties of the region to resign en masse to create political crisis at the Centre and the State, he also urged all the parties to boycott all elections till Telangana was formed.
