Congress rebels to be axed

It is almost certain that rebel MLAs, Mr C. Adinarayana Reddy (Jammalamadugu) Mr Akepati Amarnadha Reddy (Rajampet), Mr Gadikota Srikanth Reddy (Rayachoti), Mrs Konda Surekha (Parkal), Mrs Sobha Nagireddy (Allagadda), Mr Nallapareddy Prasanna Kumar Reddy (Kovuru) and Mr Y. Bala Nagi Reddy (Mantr-alayam) will be disqualified and their seats will be announced as vacant.
Legislature sources said that since all the MLAs have already been served notices to which they have replied, the Speaker need not prolong their cases and can take decisions within a day after conducting the personal hearing.
The Chief Minister, Mr N. Kiran Kumar Reddy, is now looking for revenge against Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy for the party’s humiliation in the recent bypolls in Kadapa and the disqualifications of the rebels will give him the opportunity to do so.
Sources close to him said it would be very difficult for Mr Jagan to get the rebel MLAs elected again due to local politics. And this time the Congress will ensure that the candidates of Mr Jagan lose, since it feels that there are potential candidates for the party available in Rayachoti and Rajampet.
Meanwhile, Congress sources said that another batch of disqualification petitions were being readied and would be submitted to the Speaker soon.
There are sufficient grounds for the party to seek disqualification as the rebel MLAs had participated in a dharna organised by the YSR Congress on June 13 at the District Collectorate against their own government.
Sources indicated that MLAs Mr Dharmana Krishna Das (Narasannapet), Mr P. Balaraju (Polavaram), Mr Prasada Raju (Narsapuram), Mr Pilli Subhash Chandra Bose (Ramachandrapuram), Mr Balineni Srinivasulu Reddy (Ongole), Mr Siva Prasada Reddy (Darsi), Dr P. Ravi (Putalapattu), Mr G. Srinivasulu (Railway Kodur), Mr B. Gurunadha Reddy (Anantapur) and Mr Mekapati Chandrasekhara Reddy (Udayagiri), might be getting the axe.
The ruling party is also contemplating to petition Legislative Council chairman, Mr A. Chakrapani, seeking the disqualification of two rebel MLCs, Mr Konda Murali and Ms Pulla Padmavathi (Warangal). It is also going to submit a representation to Governor.
