Yalamanchili Sivaji condemns attacks on TDP, Congress leaders

GUNTUR: While expressing condolence over the death of Prof. K. Jayasankar, former Vice-Chancellor of Kakatiya University and a pioneer of the Telangana movement, former MP Yalamanchili Sivaji condemned the acts of hooliganism that took during the departed leader's cremation at Warangal.
Mr. Sivaji described the physical attacks on Minister P. Sankar Rao and some leaders of Congress and TDP who came to pay homage to Prof. Jayasankar and vandalizing of a statue of NTR  as unfortunate and stated that by creating disturbance during the solemn event, the unruly elements only vitiated the atmosphere which would not help their cause.
Prof. Jayasankar was a man of integrity. Though politicians and intellectuals of Seemandhra region differed with him on the larger issue of Statehood for Telangana, his bona fides were never under doubt.
