Parties magnifying problems for gain: Botcha

VIZIANAGARAM: Pradesh Congress Committee president and Transport Minister Botcha Satyanarayana has reiterated that he is only a coordinator to work between party cadres and the AICC.
He assured thousands of people who gathered at Ayodhya Maidan for his maiden ‘Abhinanda Sabha', organised by the DCC here on Saturday evening that he would as a man of the Backward Classes put the name of the district on record.
He said that he was in a dilemma whether he would able to carry the party forward AICC president Sonia Gandhi offered him the coveted post but now he felt that he would with the support of all Ministers, leaders and cadres overcome all the obstacles and strengthen the party in the State. Some political parties had been trying to magnify problems of people only to gain political mileage.
He said that all the schemes including Rs. 2-a-kg rice would continue because Congress was not a party to discontinue the scheme after an individual's death.
He referred to TDP president N. Chandrababu Naidu how he dropped the scheme introduced by late NTR.
The PCC president said that he would try to cultivate the habits that many a number of party leaders had pointed out in their speeches.
Minister Dharmana Prasada Rao said that Congress alone could provide top berth to any individual notwithstanding caste, religion or community whereas it is not possible in other parties like Telugu Desam Party and YSR Congress.
He said that Mr. Chandrababu Naidu was waiting for an opportunity for the CM's chair if the party was disintegrated. Hence, he asked the gathering to strengthen the party with an aim to retain power once again in 2014 elections.
Ministers Anam Ramnarayana Reddy, P. Viswaroop, P. Balaraju and Thota Narasimham, Lok Sabha members Botcha Jhansi Lakshmi and K. Krupa Rani and others asked cadres and people to work with a target to return the party to power in local body elections and in 2014.
A number of MLAs, MLCs, ZPTCs, MPPs from the three north Andhra coastal districts participated.
However, Minister for Forest Satrucherla Vijayarama Raju and Bobbili MLA Sujaya Krishna Ranga Rao stayed away from the meeting.
