‘Naidu must apologise to Telangana people'

ANANTAPUR: Senior BJP leader and the party's national secretary N. Indrasena Reddy demanded on Tuesday that the TDP president N. Chandrababu Naidu apologise to the people of Telangana for his alleged demeaning statements about the region.
The TDP president had allegedly said that there were places in Telangana where even horses could not feed themselves, a metaphor of the backwardness of a few areas of the region; according to Mr. Indrasena Reddy.
He said the remarks were not in keeping with his political status as the Leader of Opposition and former Chief Minister for nine years. “Why did he not develop Anantapur district, which is just as backward as Mahabubnagar district. When he did not develop a district in his own region, where does the question of he having developed Telangana arise,” he said.
Speaking at a meeting on corruption and in support of the Lokpal Bill at Lalit Kala Parishad in Anantapur, he said that the Central government was mired in controversies and had no moral right to continue in power.
