Kiran, Naidu mourn Jayashankar

HYDERABAD: Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy and Chairman of Legislative Council A. Chakrapani have led the State in paying tributes to Telangana ideologue K. Jayashankar.
In his condolence message, Mr. Chakrapani said on Tuesday that Mr. Jayashankar had spent his life in creating awareness among the marginalised sections and inspired them to fight the injustices.
Chief Minister expressed grief over Mr. Jayashankar's death and recalled his services as an academician.
“He was the ideologue of Telangana movement and published many papers on economic development and educational economics”, the Chief Minister said and conveyed his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family members.
Telugu Desam Party (TDP) president N. Chandrababu Naidu said Mr. Jayashankar had rendered invaluable services to Telangana region as an intellectual and academician. Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) president Botcha Satyanarayana said: Mr. Jayashankar's commitment to the statehood cause will always be remembered. President of erstwhile Praja Rajyam Party K. Chiranjeevi said the death of Mr. Jayashankar was a huge loss to the State as he had inspired the youth in fighting injustices.
Mr. Jayashankar had given the shape of a movement to the aspirations of Telangana people and had raised voice against inequalities, president of YSR Congress Party Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy said.
President of Lok Satta Party (LSP) N. Jayaprakash Narayan said: He was a fierce champion of federalism and a dedicated worker for people's empowerment in Telangana and pursued the causes he believed in with vigour and determination.
State secretary of CPI(M) B.V. Raghavulu, State secretariat of CPI, former PCC president D. Srinivas, BJP leaders G. Kishan Reddy, N. Indrasena Reddy, and E. Laxminarayana, functionaries of APUWJ and Indian Journalists' Union, PDSU-PYL, CPI (ML) New Democracy and several Telangana organisations mourned the death of Mr. Jayashankar.
