TRS MLA challenges Lagadapati

NIZAMABAD: TRS MLA K.T. Rama Rao has thrown down the gauntlet to the Vijayawada MP Lagadapati Rajagopal to contest on the plank of “Samaikhyavadam” in the byelection to the Banswada Assembly constituency if the latter has any guts.
Talking to reporters at Kamareddi on Monday, he said: “We will respect Rajagopal even if he loses deposit in the byelection, but he must contest on the plank of the need of protecting the united Andhra Pradesh. Being afraid of his illegal occupation of Wakf lands Rajagopal has been championing the ‘Samaikhyavadam', he said.
Mr. Rama Rao said the State government had already filed a case on Wakf lands in the court and immediately after the division of the State, the Telangana government would dig out these cases and recover the lands which were in possession of Mr. Rajagopal. “Rajagopal should get ready to go to jail in the case”, he added. Advising the MP desist from making unnecessary remarks on the Telangana demand, he said first Mr. Rajagopal should focus his attention on the issues confronting his constituency before making remarks on the Telangana. Demanding the elected representatives of all political parties in the Telangana should resign, he said only the Constitutional crisis will create the necessity of bifurcating the State. Warangal MLA Vinaya Bhaskar was also present.
