MLC demands funds for AP Study Circle

VIJAYAWADA: MLC Jalli Wilson has demanded that the Government immediately sanction funds necessary to enable the students of SC, ST and BC categories effectively use the services at the AP Study Circle.
The purpose of the study circle was getting defeated as the government and the department concerned were not supporting it to the extent needed, he said.
Stating that the Hyderabad-based AP Study Circle opened its branch here in 2007,
Mr. Wilson said that they could run the classes well only for one year and later funds crunch continued to create all sorts of hurdles in the smooth running of the activities of the circle here.
The maintenance of rooms for residential students was totally neglected and kitchen material was also in very bad shape, he said.
Panel visit
Mr. Wilson, along with Dalith Rights Struggle Committee leader Butti Rayappa, visited the study circle local branch and enquired about the conditions there from the students on Friday.
Lack of facilities
They expressed their displeasure over the lack of proper facilities and maintenance in the interests of providing best opportunities to the students. They said that they would represent the matter to the district Collector and seek a better deal for the study circle soon.
